GreenRock Energy Embraces Sustainability and Responds with Warm Support for Local Communities
Since 2014, the Chiayi County Council has organized year-end initiatives to support households at the margins of poverty and disadvantaged groups. This year’s “Love in Action, Hand in Hand” winter charity campaign provided NT$3,000 in shopping vouchers to each of 200 low-income households, as well as NT$500 shopping vouchers to residents of registered institutions serving people with disabilities, setting an example of collective goodwill. In the spirit of giving back to society, Green Rock Energy contributed nutritional supplements and daily necessities, hoping to provide practical assistance to those in need through tangible donations.
Beyond extending support to vulnerable communities, Green Rock Energy also recognizes its responsibility to help preserve valuable local cultural heritage. Xiagang Hu’an Temple in Budai Township, Chiayi County, serves as a central spiritual and cultural landmark for the local community. In 1919, the Xiagang area was struck by a severe epidemic, which later subsided following the introduction of the Deities on Inspection (Dai-Tian Xun-Shou). In gratitude, local residents initiated traditional Taoist Jiao rituals. This year marked the first Three-Day Jiao Ceremony held in twenty years, culminating in the grand Wang Boat Burning Ceremony to respectfully send off the inspecting deities. Green Rock Energy joined forces with Hui-Meng Energy to donate NT$200,000 in support of the event, collectively praying for peace, prosperity, and favorable conditions in the year ahead.
In addition to expanding its green energy portfolio, Green Rock Energy actively advances local sustainability and social care, demonstrating a strong commitment to cultural preservation. Through the development of fishery-solar symbiosis projects, the company revitalizes existing fish ponds and transforms renewable energy technology into sustainable economic value. This approach not only provides stable additional income for landowners, but also contributes to the preservation of traditional aquaculture practices.
