GreenRock Energy Brings Year-End Care to Chiayi Communities
During the cold winter season at year-end, Green Rock Energy participated on December 20 in the “Love in Action, Hand in Hand” charity event organized by the Chiayi County Council. Through tangible acts of giving, the company delivered warmth and care to vulnerable groups, demonstrating its deep commitment to local communities and translating sustainability values into meaningful local action.
Green Rock Energy has long been deeply rooted in Chiayi. Its fishery-solar symbiosis project in Budai Township, with a planned installed capacity of 120 MW, is set to begin construction. The project will integrate aquaculture with solar power generation, achieving a balance between environmental sustainability and economic development. Guided by its philosophy of “coexistence and shared prosperity,” Green Rock Energy is dedicated to fostering an eco-friendly environment, supporting local industries, and responding to social needs.
Chiayi County Council Speaker Chang Ming-Da has organized annual winter charity initiatives to provide warmth and care. In response to his invitation this year, Green Rock Energy extended support to ten charitable organizations serving vulnerable populations, including care institutions and development centers across the county. The company donated care funds as well as high-quality locally produced agricultural and fishery products, using concrete actions to express its support and further strengthen the close ties between the enterprise and the local community.
Green Rock Energy General Manager Lai Ming-Hung stated, “We believe that corporate growth must go hand in hand with local development. Chiayi is an important base for Green Rock Energy. Beyond advancing solar power projects here, we hope to inject care and support into the community through real actions. In the future, we plan to incorporate high-quality aquatic products produced from our fishery-solar sites to assist more disadvantaged groups. Our vision of sustainability extends beyond environmental protection—it places equal emphasis on social harmony and human connection.”
Green Rock Energy’s strong development and engineering capabilities are widely recognized within the industry. For the Chiayi fishery-solar symbiosis project, the company provides comprehensive, end-to-end solutions, covering project development, EPC engineering, and aquaculture management, thereby creating maximum value for the local area. Once completed, the project is expected to generate approximately 189 million kWh of green electricity annually and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 170,294 metric tons per year, further contributing to Taiwan’s green energy transition.
Looking ahead, the Green Rock Energy team will continue to uphold its core commitment to “community co-prosperity and sustainable development,” deepen cooperation with local communities, and promote more innovative projects that address both environmental protection and social needs. Through these efforts, green energy will become a vital pillar of regional development, enhancing social well-being and creating a better future for the people of Chiayi.
