Yizhu Mulberry Festival Promotes Food Education with Green Rock Energy’s Support
Mulberries are one of the signature agricultural products of Yizhu Township in Chiayi County, widely known for their high nutritional value and unique health benefits. As a fruit that perfectly combines flavor and nutrition, mulberries have gained increasing attention in recent years alongside the growing emphasis on food and agricultural education. With dedicated guidance from the Yizhu Township Office and the region’s favorable natural conditions, the quality and value of local mulberry products have continued to improve.
To actively promote mulberries and local agricultural development, the Yizhu Township Office, under the thoughtful planning of Township Mayor Huang Cheng-Chieh, held the “Yizhu Mulberry Delight: A Taste of Local Charm” Mulberry Festival on April 13, 2024. The event invited members of the public to take part in a variety of activities, including introductions to mulberry cultivation and processing, hands-on mulberry picking experiences in orchards, and DIY mulberry beverage workshops. In addition, mulberry-based baked goods and a diverse selection of locally produced mulberry products were available for purchase. Through this event, participants were encouraged to savor the gifts of nature while supporting local agricultural products.
The event was attended by Chiayi County Magistrate Weng Chang-Liang, who personally introduced the unique qualities and benefits of Yizhu mulberries. He also joined co-organizing partners in a group photo to show support for local initiatives. The organizers further invited well-known celebrity Wei Ru to serve as the Yizhu Mulberry and Green Energy Ambassador. The program featured lively performances, including singing and dancing by the popular MoMo Family, as well as magic shows and balloon art, creating a joyful and vibrant atmosphere for families and children.
