Comprehensive renewable energy provider GreenRock Energy (7833) announced that it will establish a joint venture, “ES Energy,” together with Delta Energy and ZN Energy. The three parties plan to integrate their expertise in solar power plant development, engineering, operations and maintenance management, and renewable energy trading to build a solar asset investment platform and further strengthen their presence in Taiwan’s growing green electricity market.
ES Energy will be established with total capital of NT$650 million, led by GreenRock Energy. The company will focus on investing in high-potential domestic renewable energy projects and government tenders, while rapidly expanding its power plant asset portfolio through both acquisitions and self-developed projects. In its initial phase, ES Energy targets a total installed capacity of 50MW, with estimated annual power generation reaching approximately 62 million kWh. Of this capacity, 15MW has already been connected to the grid, enabling the company to provide enterprises with a stable source of renewable electricity and support their RE100 commitments.
ES Energy will focus on Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (CPPAs), facilitating long-term partnerships between large electricity consumers and renewable energy power plants. Through these arrangements, the company aims to secure stable renewable energy supply and flexible pricing structures for corporate clients. ES Energy is committed to becoming a key partner in corporate energy transition initiatives and supporting Taiwan’s progress toward a low-carbon and sustainable future.
Ming-Hung Lai, General Manager of GreenRock Energy, stated, “As the global transition toward net-zero emissions accelerates, corporate demand for long-term and stable renewable energy supply has entered a phase of exponential growth. Through the establishment of ES Energy, we are combining GreenRock Energy’s project development expertise and engineering capabilities, Delta Energy’s strengths in renewable energy trading integration, and ZN Energy’s expertise in private equity investment and capital strategy to jointly create a green energy investment platform. Our goal is to provide corporate clients with stable and reliable renewable electricity supply, promote renewable energy trading, and support enterprises in fulfilling their sustainability and net-zero commitments.”
Building on this foundation, ES Energy will expand its presence across domestic and international renewable energy markets, continue to acquire and develop high-potential power plant assets, and strengthen its long-term green power contract portfolio. The company will further deepen its CPPA strategy to assist enterprises in Taiwan and abroad in achieving carbon reduction commitments and RE100 targets, while establishing an internationally competitive sustainable energy supply platform.
Lai further noted that GreenRock Energy will continue to leverage its core strengths in renewable energy development while expanding its renewable energy trading and application service portfolio. Through accelerated resource integration, the company aims to drive overall business growth and steadily advance toward its long-term sustainable development goals.
